It's con time again! Well, time for artists to prepare for cons, anyway. As last year, I'll be heading to SMASH! and its Artist Circle, hoping to sell prints and whatnot - and hopefully this year I will not be plagued by finnicky printers, broken scanners and a flu which rendered me mostly unable to talk >__<;

For those of you who are in NSW (Australia), this con is well worth sticking your head into - it's kind of like Animania was before Animania got so commercial and ludicrously expensive (and decided that it would be a good idea to shell out for the Sydney frickin' Town Hall, as if they specifically needed a giant expensive venue which would only be half-filled). SMASH! is quite artist-focused, having affordable tables (so you'll see lots of artists, rather than the three or four who can afford to pay up to $100 (!) at other cons) and even having Wacom on board as a sponsor - you can win a tablet at one of their art contests! How's that for a prize worth shooting for?.

Aside from obnoxious announcers, there was nothing really bad about it last year - and the best part is that even if you don'tenjoy anything about it, you've only wasted $10. Instead of, you know, fifty But I will say this, based on last year: plan your own snacks. Uni vending machines cannot be trusted.

Other news: Seeing one of my friends dieting made me feel guilty enough to resume my long-dormant diet plan. I'm bullying Talen into doing it with me, on the basis that we can keep each other honest. Also, I have a house inspection coming up next week. Eep <:<

Addendum: Odin Sphere is gorgeous, wonderfully well-written and a brilliant game to play. If you have a PS2, get it. *sigh* It does my heart wonders to see a truly beautiful 2D game on a modern console. It's also giving me a whole bunch of ideas on how I could make an RPG less tedious and fiddly.
