HELP ME COLOUR REISHI

So, I'm trying to complete another Under the Star design, but I ran into a problem. See, Reishi is a jaded, stoic giant working with the overworld army. I always envisioned that role with very subdued colours, to fit that same sort of weariness the character displays.

Unfortunately, Reishi is also the last retainer of the shoyo imperial prince, which is why the imperial house's insignia features in the armour design so much. The imperial house currently has a rich red and gold colour theme that I just don't think suits Reishi very well :\ There is also the offputting fact that Noroi, the lion-themed, paladin-esque leader of the rebels, will probably also wear gold plate armour.

What do you think? I'm not quite happy with either. Would you care to contribute a colour scheme of your own? The hair and eye colours aren't necessarily fixed, just what I always imagined. Please share your thoughts ^^ If you should be so inclined, the lineart is here.

UPDATE: I realised I didn't love Tsuyu (the prince) in the red/gold colours either, so I tried a third version using purple with gold instead of red. It's very flamboyant, and kind of makes Reishi look like she wants to join The Monarch, but I like the black as well. I'm still not sure >3>;
